
Arkhangelskaya Genrietta V. born in 1931, Doctor of Medical Sciences
Graduated with distinction from the First Moscow Lenin’ Order - Awarded Medical Institute on the medical – sanitary specialty in 1954 and that same year entered the post-graduate courses at the Institute’s Chair of Labor Hygiene and Industrial Psychology. In 1957 she defended the Candidate’ thesis entitled “The proceedings on the hygienic assessment of the press powders’ industrial particular matter ( on the basis of phenol and formaldehyde ).”
Since December 1957 until these days she has been working in St. Petersburg Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene after Professor P. V. Ramzaev consecutively in Radiological Protection Laboratory ( as the Senior Researcher ), in the Department of Scientific Medical Information and Patents Studies ( the Head ), the Medical Institutions’ Hygiene Laboratory and since 2002 in the Environmental Laboratory ( as the Chief Researcher ). The Doctoral dissertation was defended in 1971.

Studies of the physical development of Urals-residing teenagers affected by the local natural radiation background,
Studies of fresh nuclear fission products in vivo and development of the methods to prevent their intake by blood as well as expediting their rapid release from the body.
Studies of Iodine radioactive isotopes metabolism in human body, development of prevention and protection measures for different population groups from different Iodine isotopes pathways into human body , methodology development for such isotopes measurement in human body for stationary and field conditions ( the basis for the Doctoral Dissertation and the invention ).
Studies of dissemination of radiation hygiene works in the international editions, creation of Russia’s first search Thesaurus on radiation hygiene, the annual analyses of the main trends and achievements in radiation hygiene.
Studies of the Chernobyl accident social and psychological consequences for Bryansk region population aimed at their optimal mitigation.
Development of the advanced awareness-raising measures among different population groups residing in potentially radioactively hazardous as well as actually contaminated regions on the basis of population’s radiation safety information dissemination mindful of their informational needs and trust towards different sources of information.
Development of radiation safety training workshops programs for important population groups (medical doctors, teachers, social workers, leaders of different levels, journalists ) and direct involvement in this work in the potentially and actually contaminated regions.
