Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor
Born in 1966; in 1989 graduated from the Kirov Military Medical Academy (faculty of training of doctors for Airborne, Army and Rocket Troops). Doctor of Medical Sciences (2002), Professor (2003), Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Radiobiology Society of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Member of the Bureau of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Radiobiology.
From 1989 to 1992 he served in the army as chief of the medical station: chief of the regiment infirmary. From 1992 to 1995 he continued his medical studies as an adjunct student; he completed the course with the defense of a candidate's thesis. After graduation he served at the Military Medical Academy, successively holding the positions of lecturer (1995-1998), senior lecturer (1998-1999), deputy head of the department (1999-2007), head of the Department of Military Toxicology and Medical Protection: Chief Toxicologist-Radiologist of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (2007-2014). Along with his primary work, from January to August 2013, he served as Deputy Head of the Military Medical Academy for Educational and Research. From September 2014 to September 2015, he was the Rector of the Institute of Additional Professional Education "Extreme Medicine" of the All-Russian Center for Emergency and Radiation Medicine named after A.M. Nikiforov of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. From 2015 to the present: Professor of the Department of Mobilization Preparation of Public Health and Disaster Medicine at the Pavlov First St. Petersburg State Medical University, Professor of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the St. Petersburg State Chemical and Pharmaceutical University.
Main fields of scientific activity: research of blood cells and immune system under radiation and chemical effects; creation, testing and implementation of new agents of medical anti-radiation protection based on recombinant cytokines and synthetic glutathione compounds; solution of radiological and toxicological problems of disaster medicine; ecological aspects of radiobiology and toxicology; issues of training of medical workers in radiobiology and toxicology.
Author and co-author of more than 450 scientific publications, including 16 monographs, 7 textbooks, more than 25 manuals, reference books and guides, 28 patents for inventions and utility models, 4 certificates of state registration of computer programs. Hirsch index is 24. Seven doctoral and 20 candidate theses were defended under his guidance and scientific advice.
