Abstract

In experiments on rats (290 animals ) exposed to chronic γ-radiation in the total dose of 10.0 Gy it was detected that prescription of synthetic pharmaceutical of the dihydropyridine class-glutapyrone-together with drinking water during 6 months reduced the rate of malignant neoplasms from 26,5% in the control group to 13% in the treated animals. In radiation-exposed rats that received glutapyrone there was a narrowing of spectrum of the emerged neoplasms (connectively-tissual tumors only) as compared to the animals of the radiated control group, where blastomas of epithelium and lymphoid origin were also revealed. Low toxicity of glutapyrone and its anticarcinogenic action show the possibility of practical application of preparation for prevention radiation carcinogenesis.

Abstract
Catalogue of the average annual effective exposure doses of the inhabitants of the territories contaminated due to the Chernobul accident had been developed according to the method of the assessment of the average annual effective exposure doses of the settlements inhabitants. The cost-efficacy of the use of the average annual effective dose assessment method was 250 000 USD for the current 5 years. Average annual effective dose exceeded 1 mSv/year for 191 Belarus settlements from 2613. About 50 000 persons are living in these settlements.

Abstract
The article presents survey results for local population attitude to the issue of peaceful nuclear explosions (PNE) performed in the last century on the territory of the Arkhangelsk region. Complex radiationhygienic study showed the absence of radioactive contamination in the communities most close to PNE locations. The vast majority of most socially active groups of responding population groups do not experience anxiety, they feel safe, confident and full of hope. However, they are fully aware of radiation risks related to PNE consequences. The population is willing and ready to receive objective information about PNE consequences from sources which it trusts. Recommendations on informing the public about the PNE problem are given.

Abstract
Twelve to twenty years after the Chernobyl accident, liquidators that have been exposed to a wide range of doses (200-890 mSv) show radiophobia. The achieved level of adaptation to life is associated with overstrain in emotional and somatic spheres. At relatively higher exposure levels, morbidity is increased, specially pathology of the cardiovascular system. Growth in the number of cataracts is absent, but involutional changes of retina vessels are increased. Suppression of innate and acquired humoral and cellular immunity and autoallergic shifts play significant role in the identified health problems. Disorders of immunity and health of the liquidators in the remote period after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant is due to the combined effect of low radiation doses, psychological stress and other factors of non-radiation nature.

Abstract
The research objective consists in an estimation of modern exposure doses for the inhabitants of six settlements located on the coasts of the river Yenisei, including the doses caused by artificial radioactive contamination, connected with activity of FSUE «Mining and Chemical Establishment». Results of the work testify that the exposure doses for population caused by an artificial component, do not exceed the established hygienic limits, and the exposure doses for the population of the specified settlements as a whole do not exceed total exposure doses for the inhabitants of Krasnoyarsk region.

Abstract
The analysis of the volumes of manufacturing in Belarus of an agricultural production with excess of permissible levels of 137Cs and 90Sr concentration for the period which has passed after failure on the Chernobyl NPP is carried out. It is shown, that from all kinds of production which is not meeting standard requirements for the radionuclides concentration, the majority falls on the grain unsuitable for the food purposes due to 90Sr concentration. Annually, it is registered from 25 to 55 thousand tons of such grain. In considerable volumes forages, with specific 137Cs and 90Sr activity, exceeding republican permissible levels are also produced. whole do not exceed total exposure doses for the inhabitants of Krasnoyarsk region.

Abstract
The paper analyses the main sources of measurement errors of individual doses in personnel performed within the thermoluminescence technique and gives recommendations to minimize these errors. The reasons that reduce reliability of effective dose assessments derived from measured values of personal dose equivalent are imperfections of guidance documents. Changes to the Guidelines «Organization and implementation of individual dosimetric control. Staff of health institutions» are justified.

Abstract
The paper analyzes medical exposure to population of the Kirov region during the period of 50 years (1961–2011) from the main types of X-ray procedures. Steady eduction trend of exposure levels to population with increase of X-ray surveys frequency has been found.

Abstract
The paper presents results of radiation situation monitoring in the territory of the Kurgan region affected by activities of "Mayak" production association, gives assessments of annual effective exposure dose in the population of the region, analyses statistical indicators of public health, and notes preservation of psychological tension with respect to radiation hazards among the population living in contaminated areas.

Abstract
The information on contamination levels of Pacific ocean sea water and spreading of contaminated water is given for the period of the accident on «Fukushima-1» NPP and after it. Data on fishery areals are represented. The analyses of fish contamination levels is fulfilled .The questions of fish monitoring are discussed.

Abstract
The ambiguity of opinions about the effects of "small" doses of radiation is one of the key problems of modern radiobiology. Improvement of medical devices, new methods of diagnosis and treatment is accompanied by increased radiation burden on patients and staff. In this article we present the radiation-hygienic analysis of modern methods of radiation diagnostic procedures and radiation therapy, their dosimetric characteristics and the possible effects of low doses of ionizing radiation due to medical procedures.

Abstract
An article presents the results of radon indoor air concentration estimations for dwellings and public buildings of the Jewish Autonomous region in 2000–2011. More than 15 000 measurements were carried out in all areas of the region during the entire observation period. Areas with an enhanced radon content in indoor air were revealed. The maximum values are registered in Obluchensky area, in separate buildings reaching 2 000 Bq/m3.
