
Mirsaidov Ulmas M.
Mirsaidov Ulmas M. was born in 1945 in Ura-Tube Tadjik Soviet Socialist Republic in 1945. In 1967 he graduated with distinction from Moscow Chemical Technological Institute after D. I. Mendeleev and was assigned to the Tadjikistan Technological Institute as the Assistant of Chemical Technologies’ Chair.
In 1970 he entered the post-graduate courses in the USSR Academy of Sciences’ Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry after I. S. Kurnakov.In 1973 he defended the candidate’s thesis. Since 1973 he worked in the Tadjikistan Republic Academy of Sciences’ Institute after V. I. Nikitin. From 1978 to 2003 he had been the Director of this Institute. Mirsaidov is the Senior Researcher in inorganic chemistry ( 1975 ), Doctor of Chemical Sciences ( 1985 ), Professor ( 1988 ), Tadjikistan Republic Academy of Sciences’ Corresponding Member ( 1987 ), Member of Tadjik Republic Academy of Sciences ( 1993 ). In 1995 he was elected the President of Tadjikistan Republic Academy of Sciences and had been functioning in that position till February 2005. Presently he is the Director of Tadjiistan Republic Academy of Sciences’ Agency on Nuclear and Radiation Safety.Таджикистан
Mirsaidov is a high-scale specialist in the sphere of hydrogen compounds chemistry .He was the first in Tadjikistan to start systematic studies in the chemistry of light metals’ hydrides and energy- intensive substances. The studies’ results made it possible to identify and substantiate the mechanisms, regularities and directions of many chemical reactions.
The domain of Mirsaidov ( Mirsaidov U. M.)’ scientific interests is energy – intensive substances’ chemistry, inorganic materials technology and radiation safety, as well as chemical ecology.
He is the author of more than 450 scientific publications, 20 monographs and 70 author’s certificates of USSR and patents. His research results were implemented on Russian and Tadjikistan enterprises.
Mirsaidov is the Laureate of Tadjikistan Republic State Prize in science and technology, Lenin’s Comsomol Prize Laureate, Laureate of ISESCO International Prize ( Islamic States Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ).
Under Mirsaidov’s leadership 10 Doctoral and more than 40 Candidates Thesises were defended. He was elected the member of Madjlisi Milli - Madjlisi Oli ( the Parliament’s Upper Chamber) of Tadjikistan Republic.
