Omelchuk Vasily V.

MD, Associate Professor

Born on December, 30, 1958. In 1984 he graduated from the S.M. Kirov Army Medical College faculty of the Navy doctors. Since 1984 till 1991 he served as the health service chief of the Northern Fleet submarine. In 1991 after graduating from the S.M. Kirov Army Medical College faculty of senior medical personnel he was appointed the teacher of Navy and radiation hygiene chair.

In 1996 he defended the master's thesis entitled “Features of nutrition of the army members wearing personal equipment for protection of skin and respiratory organs”, and in 2001 - the thesis for a doctor's degree entitled “Hygiene of the armies located away from the stationary disposition”. In 2001 he was appointed to the post of senior teacher of the chair of Navy and radiation hygiene, in 2003 he acquired the academic status of Associate Professor at the Army Medical College chair of Navy and radiation hygiene.

Since 1991 till 2013 he was engaged in pedagogical activity at S.M. Kirov Army Medical College, taught radiation hygiene to all the categories of the College cadets and attendees. He is the author and co-author of over 70 scientific papers including 2 monographs and 5 study guides.

Since September, 2013 he combines the duties of the academic secretary of the Saint-Petersburg Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene after Professor P.V. Ramzaev and of professor of labor and radiation hygiene chair at the I.I. Mechnikov Northwest State Medical University.
