Born in 1958, in 1981 graduated cum laude from the Leningrad Sanitary and Hygiene Medical University.
Vishnyakova N.M. made a career from the junior researcher (1981) to the teaching fellow (1991) and associate professor (1996) of the Saint-Petersburg State Medical Academy named after I.I. Mechnikov chair of general, military, radiation hygiene and medical ecology.
Between 2005 and 2007 she successfully combined teaching and research work as a leading researcher of protection laboratory at the Saint-Petersburg Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene after Professor P.V. Ramzaev.
Since 2007 till the present time she is the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Saint-Petersburg Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene after Professor P.V. Ramzaev; her combined position is Professor of municipal hygiene chair at the Northwest State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov.
She is labor hygiene expert, particularly in the fields of operators’ psychophysiology; atmosphere air hygiene and norms of chemical substances content in the atmosphere air.
Since 2005 she studied issues of medical diagnostic irradiation and optimization of patients’ radiation protection at radiology and nuclear medicine imaging. In 2010 Н. М. Вишнякова has successfully passed MD defense of a thesis “Optimization of Patients’ Radiation Protection at Medical Diagnostic Irradiation”. She developed and provided scientific substantiation of methodology for definition of reference diagnostic levels at medical irradiation, proved dependence of irradiation risk at radiological procedures on the patients’ sex and age; provided scientific substantiation of concept of optimization of patients’ radiation protection at medical diagnostic irradiation.
Being an expert in the field of medical irradiation, Vishnyakova N.M. co-authored the development of SanPiN 6.1.2523-09 “Radiation Safety Norms (RSN-99/2009)”; SR 2.6.1.2612-1 “Basic Sanitary Rules for Radiation Safety Provision” (BSRRSP-99/2010)” and other standard and methodology documents in the field of radiation safety at medical diagnostic irradiation. She has 168 publications, over 90 of which are on topical issues of radiation hygiene; and co-authored two monographs.
She is the Deputy Editor-in-chief of the “Radiation Hygiene” journal, and the Academic Council Vice-president of the Saint-Petersburg Research Institute of Radiation Hygiene after Professor P.V. Ramzaev. She has supreme qualification grade of a doctor in the field “General Hygiene”, certificates of an expert in radiation hygiene and in preventive toxicology, and international certificate of Uppsala University in industrial and environment medicine.
Vishnyakova N.M. was rewarded with a Scroll of Honor of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation and with an award pin “Rospotrebnadzor Honored Worker”.
